song of the week.

apart from the seriously infectious 'mating call' that kurt gave me during the week in pakistan, this track has got me seriously singing along in whimsical happiness. kind of spurned on by the hilarious and insanely addictive questionable content, the author of which is an 'indie' music super-expert and lover, along with randomly testing old old friends' music tastes (in this case mansha tandon's who I don't know if any of the dipsites reading this will remember as the hyper-intelligent chick with the semi-afro:) ; I saw the video (utterly boring i must admit) on VH1 a couple of weeks ago.

get it if you like whimsical, but don't start calling me 'indie' just yet cos that music needs hella power-ups to suit the palette of a connoisseur like moi.

anyways, here it goes:

I want to live where soul meets body
And let the sun wrap its arms around me
And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
And feel, feel what its like to be new

Cause in my head there’s a greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations
So they may have a chance of finding a place
where they’re far more suited than here

I cannot guess what we'll discover
We turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels
But I know our filthy hands can wash one another’s
And not one speck will remain

I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
If the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body

I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
If the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

From the song "soul meets body" by Death cab for cutie

absolutely love that song... it's been buzzing in my head for weeks now... thanks again for the skype chat! and i will hunt you down whenever i have a motivation low :)

Dhruv: I have been called A LOT of things in my time [most of them bad, and most of them true, too!]; but "hyper-intelligent"? Now that's a first. I let loose on beforeisputterout.blogspot.com, so drop by and say "hello" or "HURRO", even. I reach Delhi mid-December so we should have a beer when I'm there.
